Uninstall

Uninstall and clean up

The preloader uninstalls like any other Windows program. Your own files stay untouched, only previews and settings are removed.

Removing it

  1. Quit the appClose it from the icon in the notification area so no file is in use.
  2. UninstallWindows Settings, then Apps, then select JB Thumbnail Preloader and uninstall.
  3. Restart ExplorerSo Windows stops holding the preview handler in memory.

What gets deleted

  • The program itself and its preview handler.
  • The preview images the preloader generated.
  • Your settings and the list of preloaded folders.

What stays

  • All of your original files. The preloader only reads them, it never changes or moves them.
  • Your license key stays valid. If you install the app again later, the same key works.
After removing it, Explorer goes back to what Windows can do by itself. For camera RAW, video formats, 3D and CAD files that usually means grey icons.

Clearing only the preview storage

If you do not want to uninstall but simply free up space, the app has a section for preview storage. There you can discard everything and rebuild it on demand. That is also the right step if you suspect a preview no longer matches its file.
